the most “fedi is run by a bunch of immature adults” thing that’s happened to me was when the host of a sizeable instance decided on a whim to post a (later revoked) shutdown announcement that, for whatever reason, included the text “… smear campaigns by people such as twinkle mouse, …” when I didn’t even make a smear campaign in the slightest, was a fucking teen, and then was later pressured in private to apologise to the host in my own vent posts about how mistreated i was

and i apologised anyway because i folded under pressure.

btw i apologised and then never got an apology for all the reputational damage that it dealt to me. she basically went “I don’t feel the need to apologise to you but it’s sorry that it’s caused you troubles” like real “I’m right and you’re wrong” highschool clique shit but in adult lingo. like Jesus fucking Christ this internet is just out to bully teens
