someone told me that ps controllers are bad for pc gaming because they aren't natively xinput
but xbox controllers don't do gyro
my concern is "compatible with pc gaming" and "compatible with gyro" are incompatible and idk which i want

@tauon i was told that many games won't do PS controllers and you'd have to setup Steam Input or similar to make it run
is that not the case in practice?

@azalea @nyanpasu64 yeah the new steam controller is the one I’m personally waiting for

I think the 8bitdo ultimate 2 also supports gyro even on non-nintendo models if you update their firmware (which sadly requires windows software to do)

@nyanpasu64 @tauon i mostly just rely on steam input but ive seen that a lot of my games that actually targeted controller usage (like hollow knight) natively support my dualsense. i dont play games that use gyro though so idk how good the gyro stuff is. though i do know that it takes some finagling to get the controller inputs correctly mapped for native games

@nyanpasu64 @tauon i think i might’ve needed to add an udev rule to make the controller correctly recognised but i dont remember if that was necessary
