so there’s this German children‘s uuuhh…franchise at this point? centred around a young witch (Bibi Blocksberg), and I had an interesting idea.
the magic system in that world basically boils down to „as long as a witch can express her intent in a rhyme, she can bend reality to her will“. most spells are very simple one or two sentence rhymes, I think there’s also even simpler „emergency spells“ that are just two words, and there’s also more complex incantations that can be more powerful but still have to rhyme.
given that Punderworld, the table-top word playing game, already exists, I had the thought…wouldn’t it be really fun to have a ttrpg set in that world, too? :D
a ttrpg with a soft magic system where you can basically do whatever as long as you can make a rhyme out of it. I think that could be a lot of fun!
@follpvosten and as I descend from my position, my dick in its prime location; them bitches I shall receive, and greatest climax they shall achieve
@twinkle lmao :D unfortunately I don’t think position rhymes with location, at least according to wiktionary 😔
@follpvosten how does it not rhyme …. i pronounce the two -tion’s the same
@twinkle @follpvosten Because the stress isn't on the -tion.
@twinkle wiktionary believes that location doesn’t rhyme with -ʃən, but only with -eɪʃən https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/location#English
I had the feeling it would be like that but I had to confirm. no I don’t know what the rules for what rhymes actually are, I go strictly off instinct 🥴
@twinkle my theory here is that English considers the „tion“ to be a single sound (or syllable or whatever) and that’s why?
@follpvosten me when fighting a bigot:
"Gone with the Baffoon,
ridden within a blink,
respawned into splattoon
and plastered full with ink!"
Hex Hex~
@CIMB4 hell yeah :D
