@SuperDicq well, that’s not what i see, and i was posting about my experiences.
all my life i am hiding. all my life. constant fear. double checking. envy that cishetero people can kiss and hold hands in public. i turn around at night in almaty and always have a knife at the ready and i monitor news and have fights with my parents, i feel suffocated, terrified of the army draft and what might happen to me there. to me being covert and afraid is the norm.
i could leave that behind. I COULD LEAVE THAT BEHIND. I CAN GO TO PRIDE. I CAN KISS MY PARTNERS AND TRANSITION AND
i saw the pride flag being flown freely and everyone on the street being fine w it and i wanted to fall down and cry of joy
you see, what upsets me about fediverse is that despite the lack of algorithm, what “does well” on fediverse is still the same things that do well under algorithmic feeds, because people already got trained out of actually reading long posts en masse

@Elizafox increasingly i feel that the problem isn’t LLM, the problem is how we don’t own our hardware (and by “we” i mean “the average consumer”), don’t own our software, don’t even own our own data and personal information, and how everything we do is on Someone’s Server Farm and how we afforded convenience by selling out any possibilities of not relying on a central tech overlord. from the grounds up we (the average consumer) sold off our rights to own what we use, little by little, over the period of time i call “when i was growing up”, and now escape is split between “another eventually shit business because nothing changed” and “ever so slightly too inconvenient to convince the masses”. and that that’s the thing we need to tackle, because when the bubble bursts we’re still on their servers
I am a mother of 4 children, and nothing hurts more than seeing your children need something while you have no way to provide it
Every day, I try to stay strong for them, hiding my tears and fear behind a smile. But inside, I am exhausted and terrified of what tomorrow may bring
I only want to give my children the basic things they deserve—to eat, to feel safe, and to have a little hope
Please don’t scroll past us. Even a small donation can bring relief to my children🥹🥹
